Social Camping/Sailing Weekend at Cobnor Point
31st Aug – 3rd Sept 2018
This is a privately organised trip, not arranged by MKSC, and you will be responsible for your own safety.
David Pickett is planning a social sailing weekend again in Chichester Harbour. This is a beautiful location in a very quiet area surrounded by nature reserves and water, the local town is a short drive, and there is a good pub in walking distance.
The site is a privately-owned groups-only campsite with launching facilities, a few showers, and not much else. Electric hook-up points are not available, but tents, caravans, and campers are all welcome. There are also hotels available in the local area if you need a bit more comfort.
Sailing there has constant access to the water with a good sheltered launch site in all tides. Sailing away from the launch site will be affected by tides, and other river traffic, so you will need to take this into consideration. I will be arranging the pitch site and launch facilities only, you will need to sort out your own transport, food and shelter. Sailing safety will be your own responsibility and we will not have a safety boat.
Having said this the site is also good for short sessions, or non-sailors who just want a weekend in a field with friends. If you are worried about your sailing skills, or do not have a boat you can get there, then we can usually arrange for you to be with a more experiences sailor. I will be happy to advise you about any aspects of this trip.
Charges will be:
|Adults||£7.50 (per head per night)|
|Children (to 18 yrs)||£5 (per head per night)|
|Visiting Cars||£3 (per car per visit)|
I need to know approximate numbers by 1st July.
