We now have worked through an agreed risk assessment. Currently the nasty BGA is not present in high quantities (yet), so we will proceed under the following guidelines. If this does rise, we will have to review the risk assessment.
Please read this document and for those that fit the criteria you can sail for the moment. Complications include a hose pipe ban – so buckets only for washing outside. The hose will be removed – we don’t want a fine!
Shore officer (s)– race officer and assistant can continue to support racing if there are enough sailors. Power boat is not a ‘required’ duty. So, it may be there will be no PB if the PB driver is not eligible or comfortable le with the water. It’s completely their choice. If anyone want to volunteer that’s a possibility too – if they choose to.
Finally, anyone wanting to sail needs to post on the Weekend or Wednesday group WhatsApp the following post:
“I have read and understood the Blue-Green Algae risk assessment. I accept full personal responsibility for my choice to continue sailing under current conditions.”
When you have posted you are allowed to sail if you met the criteria in the RA.
Take care.
