We are pleased to announce a new partnership with the Rowing Club, effective 1st April 2026. This agreement allows both clubs to maximize their time on the water and enjoy earlier starts in the clubhouse and car parks.
Revised Saturday Timings
• Sailing Club Hours: Now from 09:00am.
• Rowing Club Hours: Extended until 14:00pm.
To ensure this works for everyone, we are implementing a trial layout to improve equipment loading and clubhouse access.
1. Parking & Rigging (Trial Layout)
The goal is to keep the area directly behind the clubhouse clear for quick loading and access.
• Clubhouse Car Park: Reserved for clubhouse access, temporary rigging (Sailing & Rowing), and limited essential parking, this includes Sailing club but particularly for Sailabiity
Saturdays
• Other Areas: All other zones—including the second car park, ramp, and compound—are available for rigging both sailing and rowing boat.
• General Parking: Please use the Rightmove car park for standard vehicle parking.
2. Safety on the Water
To prevent collisions, we will be “zoning” the lake:
• Sailors: Stay inside the buoys (though you may round racing buoys if safe).
• Rowers: Circulate outside the buoys.
• Jetty Areas: This is a shared “caution zone.” Please be vigilant when crossing; safety is a collective responsibility.
• Organized Training: Leaders from the SC and RC must coordinate directly if an event is scheduled.
3. Sailability & Inclusivity
On Sailability days, please be extra mindful of participants who may be neurodiverse. We ask all members to keep noise levels down and be considerate in and around the clubhouse to ensure a welcoming environment for everyone.
Why are we doing this?
This is an experiment to see if we can reduce congestion behind the clubhouse, making it faster and easier for everyone to get their gear in and out. We appreciate your collaboration in making this shared space work!
